Thank you for all the support you have given school this year, it has been a very busy one! We hope that you all have a lovely summer and look forward to seeing all the children on Thursday 5th September.
CONGRATULATIONS to all our Bude Nippers who took part in the Cornish Nippers Championships in Perranporth this weekend; Pearl, Charlie L, Fin, Megan got a personal best in flags and Jacob reached the semi-finals in the sprint (it was also his birthday). Then our winners; Albie won Bronze in the long distance, Maisy won bronze in the relay & came 10th in the flags, Coco won Silver in the flags, Gold in the sprint & needed a lift back in the lifeboat in the final of the board race (the surf was huge!) and Stan who won Silver in the long distance, gold in the flags & 4th in the final of the board race. WELL DONE TO YOU ALL!
SCHOOL COUNCIL AWARDS CEREMONY – On Friday, School Council were presented their Platinum Healthy Schools Learner Participation Award. This is the highest award possible and we are one of only two schools in the whole of Cornwall to achieve it. The Councillors travelled to the Council Offices at New County Hall, Truro. At the Council Offices, they stood and confidently presented their power-point of the ‘project they are proudest of’. They had decided on the Plastic Free School working party which was a very difficult decision as they have achieved so much! They had a fantastic time and represented our school exceptionally well.
We would also like to congratulate Mrs Short for being the first person to be awarded the new Cornwall Healthy Schools award in memory of Suzy Cox. Mrs Short has been recognised for her excellence in enabling student-led change. BRILLIANT!
WHOLE SCHOOL BEACH DAY – The whole school enjoyed a fantastic day at the beach yesterday. Groups of children took turns to visit the RNLI station, play sports, make sand sculptures & castles, draw & colour art works, have free time and, for the first time this year, some KS2 children had a surfing lesson!
